Callie Vera part 2

Next best thing was when the kids came to see me.  I missed them more than anything.  Carter was so excited to come to the hospital but after he would see me and see Callie.  He would try to convince me to come home.   After we would explain to him why I couldn't he was ready to go home.
Kennedy was so nervous but wanted to hold her.  See her and touch her eye and hair.

Carter was and is awesome holding her.  We taught him how to pick her up and how to hold her head.  He is always asking for her to sleep in his room.  We let him pick her up anytime.  I don't ever want him to think he can't.  I will say though if she is napping I don't let him pick her up!
Kennedy wanted to sit with me and hold Callie.
Our first family picture with Callie

Getting her security tag removed so we could go home.  Look how tiny she was.  She was about 6lb 14oz when she left.  Lost 7% of her birth weight.  She had no interest in eating.  All she wanted to do was eat.  She ate every 5-6 hrs.  The nurses did not like that.  They would make me wake her every 3 hrs but she would get so mad that she would refuse to latch on.  She would just scream louder and louder.  Didn't matter what position I held her in.  She only ate when she was hungry.  At one point I was so tired and frustrated and I was starting to worry about my milk not coming in because she was not helping it come in.  The nurse was holding my boob and holding Callie's head and I was crying and Callie was crying.  I finally said "  has she lost to much weight? Is her blood sugar to low?"  Both were NO.  I said " then she is fine.  If i have to I will pump to bring in my milk and we could do formula"  They didn't want to hear anything like that, she said " oh lets not go that far"  I told her I had no problem with formula and that one or two bottles in the hospital was not going to screw her up with Nursing.  Both my other kids had to have formula in the hospital and they are just fine.  That was my only hiccup with any of my nurses.  After that the nurse gave me no problem.
                                                                   Her first night home.
